The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) reaffirmed their dedication to sustainability and environmental preservation on Tuesday, March 18, by announcing the release of their ground-breaking new jersey composed of biodegradable materials and their creative environmental project, “Runs to Roots.”
The new Kolkata Knight Riders jersey, which was launched earlier in March, sets the norm for sustainable cricket apparel since it is 100% biodegradable in compost state. The three championship stars of the team are included on the shirt, which honors their triumphs since the first T20 League was established. To commemorate their three IPL trophies, they have also bought three stars in the Gemini constellation, which is represented by this.
Along with the environmentally friendly jersey, Kolkata Knight Riders has also launched sustainable packaging that, when seeded in soil with water, turns into plants. This creative method not only reduces trash but also benefits the environment.
Building on the success the team achieved at the end of the 2024 season, Kolkata Knight Riders will continue the “Runs to Roots” campaign in addition to the jersey introduction in 2025. Fans can already take part in KKR’s environmental aim with every purchase with to the biodegradable jerseys and eco-friendly packaging.
