For the 2025–2026 season, 23-year-old all-rounder Annerie Dercksen has secured her first central contract with Cricket South Africa. The 15-player roster was revealed on Monday, although batter Lara Goodall and all-rounder Delmi Tucker were not included.
Annerie Dercksen played two Test matches and four ODIs after making her debut in both formats in 2024.
For her all-around play, she was named the 2024 ICC Emerging Women’s Player of the Year. In January 2023, she played her first Twenty20 International match for South Africa.
“We are pleased to announce the Proteas Women’s contracted squad for the 2025/26 season, a group that embodies the depth, talent, and potential of women’s cricket in South Africa,” stated Enoch Nkwe, CSA Executive: National Teams and High Performance, in reference to the most recent contract list. It’s also a historic time for Annerie Dercksen, who has earned a well-earned first national contract thanks to her outstanding performances that solidified her place in the squad.
“The team’s remarkable accomplishment of making it to a second straight World Cup final is also acknowledged by the squad’s continuity, underscoring CSA’s dedication to rewarding steady play and extending the team’s recent success on the international front.
“This team has the ideal mix of youthful energy and experience as we get ready for a significant year with the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India. We think this team is ready to compete at the top level and keep representing the nation with pride,” Nkwe continued.
