Kuldeep Yadav‘s performance in international cricket has pleased Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has referred to him as the world’s finest wrist spinner right now. Chahal, who formerly played with Kuldeep as a potent spin combination, also stated that he is not too worried about rejoining the Indian squad because it is beyond his control.
For many years, Chahal and Kuldeep—commonly referred to as the “Kul-Cha” duo—were India’s preferred spin combination in limited-overs cricket. Because they complemented one another on the field, the Men in Blue were able to win important games. Chahal did not appear for the national team until August 2023, but Kuldeep is still a consistent fixture in the ODI lineup. Ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League, Chahal discussed India’s comeback and showered Kuldeep with accolades.
“I don’t consider things that are beyond of my control. He (Kuldeep) is currently the world’s top wrist spinner. Chahal was quoted by the Hindustan Times as saying, “It shows in the way he is bowling both in IPL and international cricket.”

The 34-year-old also talked about his friendship with the Chinaman and how their mutual trust enabled them to succeed consistently both on and off the field.
Bowling with Kuldeep has been a lot of fun. It’s evident that we have a strong bond both on and off the field. We approach bowling similarly, so it was enjoyable to bowl with him. We both enjoy attacking. Additionally, there was partnership bowling. The other would tighten it from the other end as one of us went running. We always had faith in one another,” he continued.
Together, they took 130 wickets in 37 One-Day Internationals, making them one of India’s most potent match-winning duos. But in recent years, Chahal has had fewer opportunities as the club management has placed more reliance on Kuldeep.
Despite being a member of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning team, the Haryana spinner did not play a single game because the team preferred other spinners. However, Kuldeep was instrumental in India’s recent Champions Trophy 2025 victories and T20 World Cup success.
The two will compete in the 2025 Indian Premier League next. Chahal, who was purchased for an incredible INR 18 crore, will play for the Punjab Kings this season. However, Kuldeep was kept by the Delhi Capitals for INR 13.25 crore.
