Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) defeated Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) by an eight-run margin in the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) final. They won their second championship in three years with this.
Marizanne Kapp made a spectacular start to the proceedings. After the first six overs, Delhi had Mumbai at 20/2 and in serious difficulty. By the end of the seventh over of the match, Kapp had completed her four-over performance. In four overs, her stats showed an impressive 2/11. Hayley Matthews, who had just scored a game-winning 77, was removed cheaply. Only three of ten deliveries could be made by the West Indian.
Harmanpreet Kaur and Natalie Sciver-Brunt worked incredibly well together to save her team from early difficulty. Mumbai managed to score a respectable 149 because to her magnificent 66 off 44 deliveries. Amanjot Kaur and G Kamalini made crucial final contributions as well.
Delhi also lost their opening players in the powerplay. On the board, nevertheless, they had written 37. They could never truly take flight since wickets fell at regular intervals.
