Sanju Samson recently talked about his affection for MS Dhoni and how their relationship has developed over time. When the 18th Indian Premier League (IPL) begins on Saturday, March 22, the two renowned cricket players will be playing.
When their teams faced off in the IPL, Samson stated that he wanted to be around Dhoni as much as possible. After scoring the game-winning half-century against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter recalled that their relationship deepened.
“I always wanted to be around MS Dhoni, just like other young Indian cricket players do.
I wanted to sit down with him every time we played against CSK and ask him how he does things. For me, it was a dream. In Sharjah, I recall playing a game against CSK, where I ultimately did well, scored between 70 and 80 runs, won, and was named Man of the Match. In a JioHotstar interview, Samson stated, “I met Mahi bhai after that, and our relationship has grown since then.”
“I still see him frequently. I just saw him again yesterday. To go from admiring him to now sitting with him for events and photo shoots is a genuinely fortunate experience. He said, “I feel like I’m living my dream.”
In a recent IPL commercial advertisement, Samson and Dhoni were spotted together discussing 13-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi of the Rajasthan Royals. The first two home games of the inaugural champions will be held at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, where Rajasthan and Chennai will square off on March 30.
Sunrisers Hyderabad eliminated the Royals in Qualifier 2 last year. At the end of the league phase, the Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, placed fifth on the points table and just missed out on a postseason berth.
