Champions Trophy 2025: Before the India-New Zealand final, the manager gives an employee a day off and free pizza; online users respond

As India and New Zealand faced off in the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday, March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, cricket fever swept social media.

In the middle of all the excitement, a manager’s considerate deed of giving his staff a day off and a complimentary pizza in advance of the eagerly awaited confrontation is an event that has caught the attention of internet users.

“Bhaii, my manager is the best,” the worker captioned a screenshot she posted of her interaction. “All right, chutti to le he lo,” the manager wrote. Pizza or popcorn meri taraf se uss din ka. (Send me the bill; the maximum amount is $1,000.)

With over 4.89 lakh views and a variety of responses, the post immediately attracted notice. Many praised the manager as a true cricket enthusiast and expressed gratitude for his thoughtfulness. Others, nevertheless, conjectured about his motivations.

One commenter jokingly said, “He either has extra work for her or he is in love.” “No, he’s just a really nice person,” Nickitaa explained.

“Does the manager provide similar perks to male employees?” asked a cheeky user, enquiring as to whether the manager offered the same benefits to male employees as well.

“Obviously, the manager has roving eyes on you,” said a third. A guy would be working more hours the next week if he asked for the same thing.

Whatever the argument, a lot of individuals just liked the manager’s passion for cricket. One commented, “Wow, he is a real cricket fan.”

On March 9, India and New Zealand will compete for the coveted title. The winner will receive USD 2.24 million, which is more than INR 19.5 crore, while the runners-up will receive USD 1.12 million, which is more than INR 9.75 crore.
