Skills, not conditions, are India’s strength: Rajeev Shukla
Rajeev Shukla was questioned about India’s unfair advantage over other teams competing in the current Champions Trophy while attending the South Africa vs. New Zealand match in Lahore. The vice-president of the BCCI criticised the allegations, stating that every game in Dubai has been played on a different field. He added that the Indian team’s talent set, not the playing environment, is what makes them strong.
It was decided during the ICC meeting that matches involving India would be played in Dubai, and the rest of the matches would also be played there. Therefore, fairness or unfairness is irrelevant. In order to win games, the Indian cricket team does not rely on pitches. Even in Dubai, several kinds of pitches exist. India is a performance-based team; our players depend on their abilities rather than the circumstances. Shukla stated at a media appearance at the current Champions Trophy’s second semifinal.
