New Zealand’s first innings score of 362/6 is the highest in the Champions Trophy, surpassing England’s 351/8 against Australia earlier in the tournament (in a losing cause). It also happened to be the third-highest total in an ICC ODI tournament knockout, after 397/4 by India against New Zealand in the 2023 World Cup semi-final and 393/6 by New Zealand in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final against West Indies.

Miller and Lungi Ngidi added 56* runs, which made it the Champions Trophy’s greatest 10-wicket stand. In the history of the tournament, there have only been two previous 50-plus partnerships for the last wicket: 50* between Shane Bond and Kyle Mills against Australia at Colombo (SSC) in 2002, and 51* between Daren Sammy and Kemar Roach against India at The Oval in 2013.

Rachin Ravindra has amassed five hundreds in ODIs, all of which have been in ICC events. He is the most prolific player from New Zealand, followed by Nathan Astle (3) and Kane Williamson (4).
Two innings faster than Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra’s 13 innings is the fewest needed to reach five hundreds in ICC ODI tournaments.
New Zealand’s five individual hundreds in the current tournament are more than any other team’s in an edition, surpassing the West Indies’ four in 2006.
Williamson scored three straight ODI tonnes against South Africa, which is the most by any New Zealand player against an opponent and the most by any player against South Africa. Overall, it was Williamson’s fourth ODI century against South Africa; the only three players with more, David Warner, Virat Kohli, and Sachin Tendulkar, each have five.
There have been six examples of two separate hundreds in a Champions Trophy innings, the most recent of which involved Ravindra and Williamson. Ricky Ponting and Shane Watson in the 2009 semifinal matchup against England were the only two of the previous five to be eliminated via knockout.

Ravindra, who scored 108 and returned 1/20 on Wednesday, is the second player from New Zealand to reach 100 and take a wicket in an ICC ODI tournament match. In 2023, he made his World Cup debut against England, recording 123 and 1/76.
The joint-highest number of wickets taken by New Zealand spinners in an ODI is seven. In Mirpur in 2023, they took as many as they did against Bangladesh. Together, Glenn Phillips, Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, and Michael Bracewell returned 7/143 in 28 overs.
Following Sri Lanka’s six victories between October 1995 and November 1997, including their 1996 World Cup final victory in Lahore, New Zealand has won seven straight games in Pakistan. This winning streak began in May 2023 and is currently tied for the most wins by any team in the nation with India’s seven victories between February 2006 and June 2008.
New Zealand has advanced to the Champions Trophy final three times, which is second only to the 2004 winners West Indies and only behind the co-finalists India (5) in 2025. In the 2000 edition, the two teams had already faced off in the final, with New Zealand winning.
With the exception of their thrilling tie in the 1999 World Cup match against Australia at Edgbaston and their victory over Sri Lanka in their Champions Trophy 1998 campaign in Dhaka, South Africa has suffered nine losses in 11 games in the ICC ODI competition semi-finals, more than any other side.
