Tickets for the Final at Wanderers on February 8 have already sold out, and for the third year in a row, the SA20 Champions will be crowned in front of a packed house. This season, the hospitality has also sold out.
The SA20 Final is the highlight of the South African social and athletic calendar, with fans from all over the world snatching tickets in record time each season. Tickets for Season 3 sold out a week prior to Season 2.
In addition to a spectacular halftime concert featuring singer-songwriter Booshle G. and his summertime smash song “Take me Home,” the “Bullring” is prepared to greet the season’s top two teams. Numerous activities for both young and old will also be available.
“We are extremely happy to have sold out the Final for the third consecutive year,” said League Commissioner Graeme Smith. There is nothing like a packed Wanderers stadium; there is no doubt that everyone will have a fantastic day.
“It has been rewarding to see SA20 develop into a significant event on the South African sporting calendar, and we are grateful for such a loyal and passionate fan base.
Since the Final tickets are sold out, I would encourage fans to get their playoff tickets now since the four top teams will be competing for a position at the Wanderers on February 8th,” Smith added.
The playoff struggle has been thrilling, with all six teams still fighting for a spot in the top four. The Paarl Royals are currently topping the standings following a fantastic start to the season, but the Joburg Super Kings, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, or MI Cape Town could all finish first after this weekend’s games.
Tickets are still available and selling fast for the playoffs, which provide fans one more opportunity to have a good time while watching the top players from both domestic and international competition. Children will also have the chance to meet their favorite players and play on the field prior to these three playoff games.
The winner of the first qualifier will advance straight to the final, which will take place at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Tuesday, February 4.
On Wednesday, February 5, the third and fourth-place teams will face off in a “do or die match” in The Eliminator at Centurion; on Thursday, February 6, the winner of The Eliminator and the losing team from Qualifier 1 will face off in Qualifier 2 at Centurion. Alongside Thursday’s cricket match at Qualifier 2, fans may enjoy a live performance by the well-known Kurt Darren and the performer of the current hit song “Hop Hop Spinnekop.”
Alongside the winner of Qualifier 1, the winner of Qualifier 2 will play in the Final at Wanderers on Saturday, February 8. “We are extremely happy to have sold out the Final for the third consecutive year,” said League Commissioner Graeme Smith.
