Watch: Virat Kohli’s message to RCB women ahead of WPL 2025 opening game

On February 14, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants will play their first match of the third Women’s Premier League (WPL) season at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. In an attempt to retain the prized championship, the reigning champions, the RCB ladies, are eager to get off to a strong start to their campaign.

It is noteworthy that the 2024 title win by RCB women was the first trophy the team had ever won in its more than 15-year history, including for both men and women. As the trophy was presented amid the crowded Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru prior of the 2024 Indian Premier League, the victory became even more memorable. Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli sent his best wishes to the RCB women before of the 2025 World Premier League.

“What you accomplished last year is incredible, and I hope you keep up the good work. Now that the burden of winning the title has been lifted, go out there, express yourself, and take advantage of the support that Indian fans are giving you. Kohli stated in the RCB-uploaded video.

As we witnessed last year, there is no lack of skill. With the weight of winning the title now off your shoulders, I have no doubt that you will go out there and express yourself while taking advantage of the support that you receive from Indian fans. “I hope the forthcoming season brings you nothing but the best,” he continued.
