WATCH: IND vs ENG 2025: Mark Wood's peach undoes Rohit Sharma in Ahmedabad

In the second ODI against England, Rohit Sharma made a spectacular comeback to his previous level of play by scoring a magnificent century in Cuttack. But in the third ODI on Wednesday, February 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, he was removed for one run off two balls, failing to build on the incredible innings.

In the ODI format, England chose to bowl first after India lost their tenth straight toss. The Indian captain hit a quick single off the opening ball of the innings after flicking Saqib Mahmood towards mid-on.

The first delivery gave England the lead when Mark Wood came on to bowl the second over.

A peach-sized delivery was made by the England seamer at 142 kph in the corridor of uncertainty. After the ball was pitched, it straightened, forcing Rohit to make a defensive shot. The Mumbai hitter, however, was trapped on the crease and only succeeded in getting a thick outside edge behind him. With England off to a fantastic start, Phil Salt took a superb catch by diving to his right.

In the third ODI, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja rested.

During the first two ODIs, Mohammed Shami took one wicket. For the first time since the 2023 ODI World Cup final, he returned to the format. The team management is making every effort to avoid overtaxing the Bengal pacer’s body while he recovers from a serious injury. In the third ODI, he is one of the two players that is rested.

In the meantime, India’s best bowler in the first two ODIs was Ravindra Jadeja. He had an incredible economy rate of 3.21 and took three wickets apiece in the two matches. India came in Kuldeep Yadav for the third ODI, thus he was rested.
