On Wednesday, February 12, India (IND) and England (ENG) will play the last One-Day International (ODI) of their series and the last ODI for both sides before to the Champions Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India won the series in a rather overwhelming fashion in the second ODI in Cuttack. The first and second ODIs had a similar pattern. In the first ten overs, England got off to a fast start, but in the middle overs, India’s spinners took charge and shut off the visitors. England deserves praise for finishing better in Cuttack than they did in the first ODI at Nagpur.
However, England’s bowlers were just as adrift at sea as they had in the Nagpur first ODI. With an aggressive century that teased the English bowlers and made the goal of 305 seem insignificant, Rohit Sharma demonstrated that he was not yet finished. The outcome was a formality by the time Rohit was removed, as India won the series thanks to the middle order building on his strong performance.
Since the ODI World Cup in 2023, no ODIs have been played in India till this series. This is significant because the third ODI will mark the first time the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has hosted an ODI since the night of November 19, 2023, when Australia defeated all of India to win their sixth ODI World Cup.

The presence of dew makes chasing easier at this ground. And historically, the pitch remains slow and low in the first innings so the team which bats first might be in for a tough time.
