IND vs ENG 2025: Jay Shah announces organ donation awareness initiative for 3rd ODI in Narendra Modi Stadium

“Donate Organs, Save Lives” is an organ donation awareness campaign that was launched by International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah ahead of the third One-Day International (ODI) between India and England in Ahmedabad on February 12. This program has encouraged people to donate their organs in order to save lives by using cricket as a platform to raise awareness of the value of organ donation.

Thousands of patients in India are waiting for life-saving transplants, making organ donation an urgent medical necessity. Despite advances in medical technology, there is still a lack of awareness and desire to donate organs after death. The project, which will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, aims to close this disparity by informing people about the advantages of organ donation.

“On the occasion of the 3rd ODI between India and England in Ahmedabad on February 12th, we are proud to launch an awareness initiative -” Donate Organs, Save Lives. Sport has the capacity to uplift, bring people together, and have an influence that lasts off the pitch. We encourage everyone to contribute to the greatest gift of all—the gift of life—by means of this effort. Multiple lives can be saved by a single vow and decision.

“Let’s unite and change things,” Jay Shah wrote on Twitter.

India wins the series against England after two games.

India trounced England by four wickets in the second ODI at Cuttack, securing the series 2-0, thanks to a superb century from captain Rohit Sharma, who was back to his best. The hosts won easily thanks to Rohit’s 119 off 90 balls, which included 12 boundaries and seven sixes, as they chased 305. The team reached the finish line with 33 balls remaining thanks to contributions of 60 from Shubman Gill and 41* from Axar Patel.

Earlier, England chose to bat and scored 304, with Ben Duckett (58) and Joe Root (69) leading the way. However, England collapsed after losing seven wickets for 85 runs due to Ravindra Jadeja’s 3/35.

Even though India’s pursuit got off to a fast start, Virat Kohli, who had just returned from injury, only scored five runs. India maintained its dominance in spite of that. India secures another home series victory with this game, putting them up in the series.
