In the second game of the three-match series against England, Rohit Sharma dominated his way to his 32nd One-Day International (ODI) century. The Indian captain rallied to celebrate the milestone in style, breaking free from his dismal scoring streak. Throughout their exciting opening pair, Rohit was always the aggressor when batting with Shubman Gill.
To get his innings off to a good start, Rohit welcomed Gus Atkinson with a four and a six. Rohit became the second-highest six-hitter in the format with a brilliant maximum over cover in the very next over, boosting his ODI six total to 333. Rohit reached his 58th fifty in the format with the second boundary he hit off Adil Rashid’s opening over. But by then he was far from finished.
Rohit appeared unfazed by the dismissals of Virat Kohli and his opening partner, as he persisted in his pursuit of the historic milestone. With India comfortably positioned at 186 for the loss of two wickets, Rohit scored his century with a spectacular shot in the stands towards the far-off area. Remarkably, Rohit’s second-fastest ODI total was a power-packed century off 76 deliveries.

If Rohit Sharma can bat like this at the Champions Trophy, India become a different beast to play against. He has looked in command in this innings.
