During the second ODI against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9 (Sunday), players were forced to leave the pitch due to floodlight failure, which is one of the uncommon occurrences in Indian cricket this decade.
They were pursuing 305 to win the second ODI and establish an insurmountable lead in the three-match series when the incident happened in the seventh over of the Indian innings.
At one time, the floodlights continued to flicker, giving the impression that the match would soon resume. But despite the players’ and umpires’ perseverance, the game had to be stopped when the players went back to their dressing rooms.

Appeared extremely irritated while he was playing brilliantly, breaking the records of Chris Gayle and Rahul Dravid while reaching 29 off just 18 balls.
With Rohit and Shubman Gill in the middle when the game was halted, India was still 48 points undefeated.
This was the first ODI played at the Barbati Stadium in Cuttack after a gap of six years.
