On Sunday, February 9, Rohit Sharma broke all previous records during the second One-Day International match against England in Cuttack. In terms of the total number of runs scored by an Indian batter in One-Day Internationals, he surpassed former India coach and captain Rahul Dravid.
Prior to this game, Rohit needed to surpass Dravid by 22 runs. He accomplished this feat in the fifth over against Saqib Mahmood by hitting a straight six down the ground.

Rohit now stands at the fourth position in terms of players with most runs in ODIs for India. In front of him are Sourav Ganguly, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.

Rohit also broke the record for most sixes hit by a hitter in ODIs, surpassing West Indies great Chris Gayle in the same game. The Indian captain’s second six of the innings helped him reach the milestone.
He struck two of them in consecutive overs. At this point, Rohit is only surpassed by Shahid Afridi of Pakistan in terms of six-hitting in ODIs.
