In the first ODI against England on February 6, Shubman Gill made a spectacular 87-run knock to re-announce himself after a difficult period with the bat in Test matches. When India lost wickets quickly, the batter came into bat. He and Shreyas Iyer formed a game-changing combination that allowed India to comeback and easily chase the target.
Because Virat Kohli was unable to bat because of a knee injury, Gill, who usually bats as an opener, batted at number three. Ahead of the next Champions Trophy 2025, the batter received a much-needed morale boost after being named Player of the Match. The young player, who had batting alongside Rohit Sharma and Kohli in the top order for a considerable amount of time, offered insights into the strategies of two of the best Indian batsmen of the present day.
Each person has unique traits. Virat bhai is more aggressive and instinctive, in my opinion; he acts on his feelings right immediately. Rohit bhai, however, considers a lot more before altering any plans. Before going on to the next strategy, he gives the current one a little more time,” Gill told Star Sports.

A lot of confidence comes from Hardik bhai: Shubman Gill
Hardik Pandya, an all-around player, is another important component of the Indian batting lineup in their quest for complete dominance. The right-handed batter counterattacks when the club needs him to bring out his power hitter and is just as effective with the bat as he is with the ball. Gill mentioned that the 31-year-old is eager to outperform the opposition anytime he steps onto the pitch.
When Hardik bhai is on the pitch, he wants to dominate, exudes confidence, and is showy. He is always pushing everyone to be the best and deny the opposition any chance. All three have taught me a lot,” Gill said in closing.
