A couple slips are positioned in the cordon, a short-leg is in situ, and there is a strong leg side field. India started the innings trying to chase down the 249-run total set by the visitors, but England had already dispatched openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal inside the powerplay itself, and they had plans to cut short Shreyas Iyer’s stay shortly after he arrived at the crease.
During the match, English captain Jos Buttler instructed speedster Jofra Archer to deliver the seventh over.
A pair of bouncers were tossed to Shreyas Iyer in the over, who was notorious for being vulnerable to them.
To everyone’s astonishment, Iyer successfully selected both delivery and parked them outside the park for maximum impact.
Archer tried a bouncer at the Mumbai batsman on the fifth ball of the over, but Iyer delivered the ball past the mid-wicket area and straight into the stands with a powerful stance and superb bat stroke. The following ball was short again, but Iyer again swung his blade to hit it over the third man area for a six, and the Englishmen’s ploy to grab his wicket was utterly unsuccessful.
