The first ODI in the three-match ODI series between India and England is set to start on Thursday, February 6, at the Vidarbha Cricket Stadium in Nagpur. Under Suryakumar Yadav, the hosts have won the T20I series by a resounding 4-1 score. Rohit Sharma, who has recently struggled with both the bat and captaincy, will lead the ODI team.
Due to his inability to score runs, Rohit has had some difficult months at bat. India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 and the New Zealand series 0–3 under him. His leadership effectiveness has been scrutinised on an individual basis as the heat builds. The Hitman repeatedly stated before the series began that he wanted to begin it as a new one, letting go of the past.
