In a press conference held in Mumbai last month to announce India’s roster, Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of selectors for the team, discussed the pacer’s health. Bumrah might play in the third ODI of the England series on February 12 to gain some playing time, although Agarkar has previously stated that he would not be available for the first two.
In addition to missing the first two ODIs against England, Bumrah has been instructed to take five weeks off. We are awaiting his fitness and will find out from the medical staff in early February. The Indian team has already reached Nagpur, where the opening game of the ODI series versus England will take place. In 2024, India’s last ODI match versus Sri Lanka ended in a 2-0 away series loss.
