The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has honoured cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar with the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his accomplishments. Tendulkar received the accolade on Saturday, February 1st, in recognition of his contributions to cricket and its widespread appeal both in India and around the world.
In Mumbai, the city of dreams, Sachin, also referred to as the God of Cricket, received the award at the BCCI Naman Awards 2025.
Jay Shah, the current ICC chairperson and former board secretary, gave Sachin Tendulkar the souvenir.
“I believe that none of us would be here in this room if cricket didn’t exist. It has been the greatest gift I have ever received. We have a bat and a ball, and you begin to lose control of them if you don’t have a firm grasp on them. You also begin to gradually lose control over your profession. There will be distractions, so don’t let them ruin your job. I shouldn’t be telling you to keep focused, though. Respect whatever we own and take care of your game. During his address, the renowned batter stated, “It is about how we all managed when we had nothing.”
“To advance the game and the reputation of the nation, it is crucial to appreciate when we have everything and act appropriately. You are all present cricket players, like I mentioned. You still have a lot of cricket in you. You won’t realise it until you’ve quit playing cricket, which is where you were a few years ago, so just go out, give it your all, and take advantage of this chance,” he said.
