IND vs ENG 2025: England's XI keeps unchanged for 3rd T20I

India and England will play their third T20I at Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium. Having lost the opening two games of the five-game T20I series, the next match is crucial to the series’ outcome.

Tuesday’s match against the Indian team will have the same starting lineup that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) declared on Monday, January 27.

Jamie Smith is set to play in his second game of the series, but Jacob Bethell, who played in the series opener, is expected to remain ill. With Brydon Carse gaining further game experience, Gus Atkinson remains on the bench following a lackluster performance in Kolkata.

By the halfway stage of the series, Jos Buttler and the team’s management will be frantically hoping that other batters will step up. Their highest scorer in both games thus far has been the English white-ball captain. It is noteworthy that he is far ahead of everyone else on the run-scoring chart.

The batting coach for India gives a fitness update for Mohammed Shami.

In the meantime, the availability of right-arm pacer Mohammed Shami for the match in Rajkot, after the bowler missed out on making the starting lineup for the previous two games, is a major concern that has been lingering since the last two games.

According to Sitanshu Kotak, the batting coach, Shami’s condition for the rest of the series and when India may expect to see him return to international action have been revealed.

Muhammad Shami is healthy. There is undoubtedly a plan, especially when considering the next games. Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir will make a decision on the ODIs. Fitness isn’t an issue at all. The Hindustan Times cited Kotak as saying, “It all depends on how they plan to build his load.”

Shami last played for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, for those who are unaware. He had a lengthy injury layoff and took a long time to recover from surgery on his ankle. In order to provide greater understanding for tomorrow’s toss involving the pacer’s international return, things are outlined.
