'I think domestic cricket also will be played like this'- Shan Masood endorses having rank turners

In their final Test series of the current WTC cycle, the Pakistani side faced the West Indies in two matches, both played in Multan. Significant turn and bounce were produced from Day 1 on the wickets used in these two games, which were largely in favor of spinners.

Following the West Indies’ 120-run victory in today’s second Test match, the two-match series was tied. Although they would be sad that they lost the series, Shan Masood, Pakistan’s captain, was pleased with the players’ preparations and supported wickets like this, believing they ought to be utilized in domestic cricket as well.

Additionally, Shan Masood was pleased that they had won three of their last four home Test matches.

“100 percent. It is a game for all those involved. The players’ unpreparedness in hurling themselves into the den should also be commended. However, I believe this is how domestic cricket will be played as well. We dominated the first hour of the first day here as well, winning three of the four games played in these conditions. During the post-match presentation ceremony, Masood stated, “It’s really important.”

Positive indicators have been observed, such as proactive batters like Saud and Rizzy reaching fifties. Even though I scored fifty runs off of sixty balls, Babar also played proactively yesterday. Realizing that even if you don’t reach hundreds here, winning scenarios can still be determined by your 30s and 40s. Masood continued, “Kraigg Brathwaite was the perfect example yesterday.”

When it comes to Pakistan’s standing in the WTC 2023–25 cycle, they came in last with a PCT of 27.98. Pakistan participated in 14 games during this cycle, winning five and losing nine. Pakistan is now ranked eighth, which is also relatively low in the Test rankings.
