'This made me laugh'- Jasprit Bumrah responds to 'bed rest' reports

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy star Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has categorically disputed the recent rumours that he was told to stay in bed after suffering a back problem. In an attempt to dispel rumours regarding his recuperation and participation in future tournaments, Bumrah took to social media to call the story “fake” and claim it made him chuckle.

During the Sydney Test match against Australia, Jasprit Bumrah had a back injury that required him to leave the pitch in the middle of the match.

At first, reports indicated that he had back oedema, which caused a brief hiccup in his recuperation. The 31-year-old was told to stay in bed until the swelling goes down, according to a Times of India story, raising concerns over his availability for the Champions Trophy next month.

According to reports, Bumrah is scheduled to visit the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for additional evaluations. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet issued an official comment regarding his status.

“This made me laugh, even though I know fake news is easy to spread,” the commenter said in response to a post on X (previously Twitter). Untrustworthy sources,” Bumrah stated.1736959310822 Jasprit Bumrah

Even though his fitness is still in doubt, the pacer’s response demonstrates confidence in his continued recuperation and raises hopes for a prompt return. Over the last two years, injuries have hampered Bumrah’s career. He missed the 2023 IPL season and the 2022 T20 World Cup due to an 11-month back injury. His present state has once again jeopardised India’s hopes of winning the Champions Trophy, despite an incredible comeback.

The squad announcement deadline of January 12 has now passed, and the team must finalise the list by January 18 or 19. The pacer’s recovery over the next few days will determine whether or not he gets included.
