The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Code of Conduct (ICC) rules will be applied to all players in the 2025 season, according to a number of stories that have surfaced as the new IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 season draws near.
The decision was made at the last BCCI general council meeting, which also covered a number of other significant subjects, including the Champions Trophy, the next WPL, and the IPL, according to sources.
Penalties authorised by the ICC will now be applied to Level 1, 2, or 3 offences.
News18 quoted an IPL GC member as saying, “The IPL has its own Code of Conduct up to this point, but going forward, playing conditions will be followed as per ICC T20I regulations.”
In the 2024 Indian Premier League, up to 10 Code of Conduct infractions were reported. Several of the tournament’s moments went viral and caused controversy.
In the games that followed, Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Virat Kohli, Sam Curran, Rasikh Salam Dar, and Ishan Kishan all committed Level 1 offences. But according to the rumoured rule change, some of the offences would not be punished in the 2025 IPL.
