Ravindra Jadeja, India’s top all-round player, was inconsistent at the just finished Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. During the five-match series ,the southpaw participated in three games but was only able to muster 135 runs at an average of 27 and claimed four wickets.

When the selectors determine that the transition must begin is crucial. They will talk on whether to choose a safe course of action in Jadeja or to proceed immediately. He has had trouble getting going even in Test cricket, despite his consistent bowling. In the ODI format in particular, there is a desire to move on from him. The decision in the next few days will be difficult,” the insider continued.
In 2024, Jadeja only participated in eight white-ball games, all of which took place at the T20 World Cup. During the event, he was only able to claim one wicket and amassed 35 runs at an average of 11.66. The players are Axar Patel and Washington Sundar, who played 19 and 15 games in limited-overs cricket last year, respectively, and have been a reliable choice in the white-ball format before Jadeja.
