Reports: Tension in Indian dressing room prevalent from beginning of Australia tour

The Indian team’s victory against the Australians in Perth may have given them a head start in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but since then, it has been a grind and they haven’t played at their best. The hosts, who are already ahead 2-1, have a chance to reclaim the championship after a ten-year absence.

Reports of considerable disturbance in the Indian dressing room have also surfaced during this series, including Gautam Gambhir’s tantrum following the MCG Test loss.

There have also been recent reports of a lack of camaraderie among the players. After the triumph in Perth, the reports added, they had divided into smaller groups and did not share in the celebration.

“Neither of them went out to eat together or even just hung out in the dressing room for a drink. As an alternative, they divided into smaller groups and left. According to the source, who was cited by Hindustan Times, “the closest they came to it was a group of them, about seven or eight, including a couple of the assistant coaches, going to Nobu, the upscale Japanese restaurant chain, for dinner.”

According to the story, some players went out to eat, but India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir chose to eat dinner with his family.

It was spent eating a peaceful Indian supper with his family, according to head coach Gautam Gambhir. Later that night, some of the other kids were seen drifting along Hay Street. This is in spite of the fact that a senior support staff member offered to use his own credit card to purchase drinks for the group so they could all enjoy their accomplishments together. There was little real curiosity among the players, as he would later tell me. Each of them had their own intentions,” the person continued.
