The Indian team’s Champions Trophy 2025 roster has not yet been revealed. The eight-team competition, which will pit top-ranked teams against one another for the prized trophy, will begin in February and be hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
India is scheduled to play three One-Dayers and five Twenty20 Internationals at home in order to prepare for the Champions Trophy. This will give them a chance to practise before the tournament officially begins. Star spinner Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, is reportedly not set to be selected by the Men in Blue for either of the two missions.
Due to a groin injury sustained during the most recent home Test series, the spinner has been unable to play cricket. The cricket player is currently recovering from surgery for the same condition. Kuldeep might be able to make the squad for the forthcoming multi-format series against England, according to The Telegraph, but his prospects of getting in are small, according to a BCCI source.
Kuldeep Yadav hasn’t begun bowling yet. After he begins, he will need to show up for a couple of match simulations before he is officially approved. Regarding the England matches, with just over a month left until they start, Kuldeep’s return is difficult but not impossible. However, there may be a chance for him to return in terms of the Champions Trophy because there will be more time for it,” the insider said.
Kuldeep Yadav coach is still hopeful.
Kapil Pandey, a former Services cricket player and Kuldeep’s boyhood friend, still thinks the orthodox spinner is on track, despite the fact that his future is not looking good. He also mentioned that in order to fully recover, Kuldeep will play a few practice matches before beginning to bowl.
“He should start bowling this month. I’m pretty sure. Next week, he will arrive in Kanpur, and we will then proceed with further arrangements. Predicting Kuldeep’s return may be a bit premature because he will resume bowling first and then need to play a few practice matches while completing the other tests and procedures, according to Pandey, who was cited by Hindustan Times.
