Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: Karun Nair named captain as Vidarbha announce 17-man team

Vidarbha announced their squad for the forthcoming 50-over domestic tournament, and pro batter Karun Nair was appointed as the team’s leader for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024–25. The senior selection committee, under the leadership of Sudhir Wankhede, unveiled a formidable 17-man roster in advance of the competition.

International players like Jitesh Sharma, who serves as both the team’s wicketkeeper and designated vice-captain, will play for Vidarbha under Karun’s leadership. Additionally, the club has seasoned players like Dhruv Shorey and Akshay Wadkar.

Despite being the unit’s most seasoned player, Ace India speedster Umesh Yadav has unable to establish himself on the team. In Yadav’s absence, Vidarbha’s speed battery has been strengthened by top pacers like Aditya Thakare, Darshan Nalkande, and Yash Thakur. Harsh Dubey, a left-arm bowling all-rounder, will be in charge of the spin division.

Southpaws Atharva Taide and Yash Rathod are anticipated to start the innings, while Dhruv Shorey might be batting one down.
