AUS vs IND 2024-25: Mohammed Siraj survives injury scare on Day 2 in Brisbane

On Day 2 of the third Test match between Australia and India at the Gabba in Brisbane, Mohammed Siraj bowled a delivery at the tail end of the first session and strained his hamstring. On Sunday, December 15, the right-arm seamer bowled with great passion before having to leave the pitch due to a hamstring injury.

The incident happened during the Australian innings’ 37th over. During that over, Siraj bowled and injured his hamstring. He attempted to prolong it, but the harm was already done. Before leaving the pitch, the Hyderabad seamer requested for the physiotherapist. Siraj was beginning to appear quite menacing, therefore this was a crucial point in the game.

Akash Deep, who is participating in his maiden Test match outside of India, filled in to finish Siraj’s over with the final four balls. Given that their preferred team does not have many part-time possibilities to fill, Indian fans would have been ecstatic.

To the excitement of the Indian supporters, Mohammed Siraj returns to the pitch.

The 30-year-old has a reputation as a fighter who can overcome challenges. In the final moments of the first session, he returned to the pitch and dived to his right to stop a boundary at mid-on, which was a huge relief to the Indian supporters. He wasn’t accustomed to using the ball, though.

Despite his heartfelt bowling in the first session, Siraj was unable to increase his current three-game total of nine wickets. up Sunday, the seasoned seamer will want to put up a solid performance in the second session and support his team in establishing their supremacy. After 43 overs, the home team ended the first session at 104/3. Travis Head and Steve Smith would like to continue their partnership in the post-lunch session as they are still undefeated at the crease.
