‘Every wicket that he took he was more aggressive in his celebration’- Adam Gilchrist analyses Australia's captain's performance in Adelaide

In the first Test match in Perth, India won by a thumping 295 runs as Australia’s captain Pat Cummins battled with the ball. As the hosts won by ten wickets in the Adelaide Test, the express pacer was in form, taking five wickets in the second innings. Adam Gilchrist, a former cricketer, praised Cummins’ talent after the match and pointed out that the pacer was fired up in Adelaide.

The former renowned keeper-batter praised the 31-year-old’s aggressive celebration following each dismissal and said he looked fantastic in Adelaide.

The Sydney native was criticised during the first Test but recovered with a great showing in the second, Adam Gilchrist added.

Cummins was excellent; it was great to watch him purr at the end of a tune-up and grease and oil change after Perth. His celebrations made it clear that he was getting more aggressive with each wicket he got. Not to the point of losing control, but it was evident that they had been hurt by some of the comments in the wake of their performance (in Perth), and they must have been really disappointed in their own performance,” Gilchrist told Fox Sports.

Due to Hazlewood’s fitness issues, Boland might be included in Australia’s starting lineup.

Australia is closely monitoring Josh Hazlewood’s health in the interim. A side strain prevented the star bowler from playing in the second Test of the series. He is still in rehabilitation, and a decision is anticipated to be made 24 hours before to the start of the third test on December 14.

Scott Boland will remain in the starting lineup if Hazlewood is unable to participate. Another issue is the senior hitters’ form. Although Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja have yet to join the celebration and contribute, Marnus Labuschagne got a half-century in the second Test.
