SA-W vs ENG-W: Charlie Dean joins James Anderson's elite ODI hattrick club

In women’s ODI cricket, spinner Charlie Dean becomes the third player from England to get a hat-trick. In addition to playing a significant part in dismissing South Africa’s women’s batters, the off-spinner became one of the few players in their distinguished careers to reach this milestone, along with James Anderson and Andrew Flintoff.

Notably, the South Africa Women vs. England Women send ODI concluded in a victory for the visitors, who easily prevailed despite chasing a low score of 136. In order to set up the forthcoming match in Potchefstroom as the series decider, this proved to be the ideal method of levelling the ODI series. As a result, the team captained by Heather Knight staged a spectacular comeback and maintained their hopes against a determined South African team.

Charlie Dean, who concluded with figures of 4/45 in 10 overs and a hat-trick in which she took out Marizanne Kapp

, Nadine de Klerk, and Sinalo Jafta, respectively, was the match’s highlight. In women’s ODI cricket, this also made her the third bowler for England Women to record a hat-trick.

Speaking about Dean, she has now played in 73 matches for England women. In these matches, she has already claimed 115 wickets. Dean’s record in the women’s ODIs is 62 victims. In addition, she has held an outstanding economy rate of 4.58 and has taken five and four wickets.

To advance to the series final against South Africa, England Women won their second ODO.

In the meanwhile, England Women will be extremely confident following their 6-wicket victory over South Africa, regardless of the result and significance of the second ODI. Wyatt Hodge and Amy Jone ultimately finished the game for the English bats, who easily chased down the total. This was one of the batting department’s standout performances. The series finale between the two teams will now take place on Wednesday, December 11 in Potchefstroom.
