‘We failed to grab our opportunities’- Rohit Sharma reflects on Adelaide defeat

The Rohit Sharma-led team scored 180 and 175 runs with the bat, but that was far from enough. In the first innings, Labuschagne’s 64 and Travis Head‘s 140 helped the hosts establish the tone, and the bowlers took care of the rest.

In the second of the five-match series, Australia defeated India by a resounding 10-wicket margin in Adelaide. The visitors lost badly because they struggled at bat and the bowlers did not do well either. In the two innings,

Although Rohit acknowledged that he was unhappy by the Adelaide loss, he also stated that the squad would not dwell on the past for very long. Given that several of them had never played with the pink ball before, the players were optimistic they could replicate the 295-run victory India had in the first Test match in Perth, but they were unable to adjust to the new circumstances. The team’s attention will now be on the third Test at Gabba, which is scheduled to start on December 14, the captain continued, adding that each Test has its own challenges.

Australia outperformed us, and we didn’t play, so it was a disappointing week for us. In Perth, we did something unique. We wanted to repeat it, but each Test match has a unique set of difficulties. The Gabba Test is something we are really anticipating. There were some excellent recollections there. At the presentation after the game, Rohit stated, “We want to start well and play well.”

In the most recent 5-6 game, we didn’t bat well enough: Rohit Sharma

Rohit admitted that the hitters’ recent performances have been subpar. India defeated to New Zealand 3-0 at home after struggling against them. They did manage a spectacular victory in Perth, but the batting lineup was unable to leave their imprint in Adelaide, leading to a humiliating loss. The 37-year-old stated that the players would need to overcome certain obstacles and that he expects them to rise to the occasion.

“It’s not a scar.” In a Test match, we lost. There are some things we must learn about ourselves. What we wish to accomplish with the ball and bat. It remains 1-1. There’s still a lot to discover in this series. We’re hoping that everyone can meet the challenge. Not to worry, I would suggest. In the press conference, Rohit stated, “I agree that we didn’t bat well enough if you take out the last 5-6 match.”
