KL Rahul and Kane Williamson reprieved by no balls minutes apart in different parts of world

KL Rahul and Kane Williamson reprieved by no balls minutes apart in different parts of world

The second Test match between England and New Zealand will take place in Wellington’s Basin Reserve, while on December 6, India and Australia faced battle at Adelaide’s Adelaide Oval. Kane Williamson, a Kiwi batsman, and KL Rahul, an Indian wicketkeeper, had every reason to be happy in a strange situation.

Coincidentally, the pair managed to avoid being dismissed since they had no balls. The bails of his off-stump were dislodged by a heavier delivery in the thirteenth over of Day 1 before replays revealed that Brydon Carse had overstepped, allowing Williamson to survive.

Just fifteen minutes later, KL Rahul, batting in Adelaide, edged Scott Boland’s back-of-a-length delivery to the keeper in the seventh over of Day 1.

The right-handed hitter started to make his way slowly to the dressing room. Replays revealed that the Boland also crossed the popping crease, and as luck would have it, the umpires summoned him back. Notably, there was no spike visible in the replays when the ball passed the bat.

Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop was alerted to the events that transpired within a few minutes, and he promptly posted his surprise. Since he was the first to make this remark, social media was ablaze with comparisons to this odd occurrence.

It’s unbelievable that Brydon Carse bowled Kane Williamson off a no-ball. “KL Rahul is caught behind off a Scott Boland no-ball 15 minutes later across Oceania,” Bishop said on his X account.

Can’t believe that Kane Williamson gets bowled off a Brydon Carse no-ball. 15 minutes later across Oceana, KL Rahul gets caught behind off a Scott Boland no-ball.🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️.
