BGT 2024-25: Rain threatens India's preparation for Perth Test

The guests In preparation for the first Test match against Australia in Perth, which begins on November 22, Team India has trained for a week thus far. As of right now, a number of players have pleased the club management. Young players Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana are expected to make their debuts, and Devdutt Padikkal is being considered as a backup if necessary. The Captain, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill’s unavailability, however, continues to be a major source of worry.

During this time, rain is predicted to interfere with India’s preparations for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024–25). According to the weather report, rain clouds are predicted to loom huge in Perth between November 19 and 21. In that scenario, the visitors will not practise for three days in a row before to the first Test. It’s concerned if the Indian team’s players can’t get enough practice before the first Test match because several of them will be playing senior cricket for the first time in Australia.

AccuWeather predicts that the Perth Test’s first day will be overcast. New Zealand was bowled out for just 46 runs in the first innings of India’s previous match against them in Bengaluru last month under similar circumstances. They struggled to play in cloudy circumstances, so the toss will be crucial because both teams will want to bowl first, especially because Perth’s surface greatly favours pacers.

Perth weather to help batters starting on Day 2

It is predicted that the remaining days will be sunny, which is beneficial for the hitters. The Indian team is already behind after losing the series 3-0 at home to New Zealand, and they will also be missing a number of its important players in the first game.

Cameron Green is the only member of Australia who will miss the series due to a stress fracture in his lower back. While Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja will be tried at the top of the order in his place, Steve Smith will return at four.
