Mohammad Rizwan sets eyes on T20I whitewash over Australia after ODI success

Their first series victory in the land of the Kangaroos since 2002 came when Pakistan defeated Australia 2-1. There were many discussions over the captaincy prior to the series because Babar Azam had resigned from the position for the second time in as many months. Nonetheless, the recently appointed Mohammad Rizwan performed admirably in his maiden task, helping Pakistan secure a historic series victory. However, the keeper-batter has higher goals and isn’t content with that.

Rizwan stated before of the Twenty20 International series against Australia that he wants to win in venues where Pakistan hasn’t triumphed in a long time.

His unit should aim for larger competitions like the World Cup and the Champions Trophy, he added. Although he encouraged the players to act appropriately, the 32-year-old also stated that he is okay with the team celebrating their series victory over Australia.

“It’s okay, we’ve celebrated our victory in the ODI series because nobody anticipated our victory in Australia. However, at the same time, all players must keep in mind that they are Pakistan’s ambassadors and conduct themselves properly while on tour,” Rizwan said to the players during a motivational speech given in the dressing room on Tuesday by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

To demonstrate to the world what Pakistani cricket is capable of, I believe we should all aim to win major tournaments like the World Cups and Champions Trophy. “We must put an end to years-old records of failure to win somewhere,” he continued.

The start date of Pakistan’s T20I challenge is November 14.

The three-match Twenty20 International series between Pakistan and Australia will go off at Brisbane’s Gabba on November 14. The players will feel optimistic about their prospects, particularly following the victory in the ODI series.

As they prepare to start training for the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is scheduled to start on November 22, Australia’s Test players will skip the entire series.
