I'll return to the Test when the time comes: Suryakumar Yadav

The Indian team’s T20I captaincy was assumed by Suryakumar Yadav immediately following Rohit Sharma’s retirement from the shortest format. Since then, he has guided India to series victories of 3-0 over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The daring batter, however, has stated that he would like to rejoin the Test team. It is important to remember that he faced Australia in February 2023 for his lone Test match.

He was bowled by Nathan Lyon for just eight runs in his lone Test match in Nagpur. The right-handed batter has been waiting for the team to call him back ever since. The 34-year-old has expressed hope about his possible return as he prepares to captain the Indian team against South Africa at their home ground.

“I’ll make a Test comeback when the time comes. I participate in every domestic event, whether it’s white-ball or red-ball. No game is missed by me. Suryakumar was quoted as saying, “If that [Test comeback] has to happen, it will happen.”

The outcome has no bearing on Rohit Sharma’s character: Suryakumar Yadav

New Zealand dominated India in the recently finished Test series at home. After being the first skipper to lose a series by a score of 3-0 at home, Rohit has been heavily criticized. India’s Test and ODI skipper has the support of Suryakumar, who also confirmed that the opener is a man of integrity.

“Losing and winning are typical in sports. Everyone strives for success and works hard. For me, balance is the most crucial aspect of life.

His character remains the same whether he’s [Rohit] succeeding or failing. That is a trait that I believe every athlete should possess. Added Suryakumar.
