While some decisions are beyond my control, we have discussed Fakhar Zaman's possible return: Mohammad Rizwan

Now that he is leading Pakistan in the white-ball format, Mohammad Rizwan has a lot on his plate. Along with facing a difficult limited-overs tour of Australia to begin his leadership role next month, the wicketkeeper-batter is occupied with answering enquiries about Fakhar Zaman’s contentious exclusion from the central contracts list.

Fakhar Zaman was taken off the contract list on Sunday, October 27, just a few weeks after he took to Twitter to criticise the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for removing Babar Azam from the second Test match against England. According to Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, the exclusion of Fakhar was based on both his tweet and his inability to pass fitness testing.

Rizwan praised Fakhar’s batting prowess and capacity to contribute significantly under any circumstances. In regards to the southpaw, the 32-year-old hoped that the matter will be settled quickly.

There is no denying Fakhar’s influence; he is a powerful player who, under all circumstances, has the ability to alter the course of the game. “We have talked about his possible return and hope the matter will be resolved soon,” Rizwan said, but some decisions are out of my control, according to India Today.

We will collaborate with the head coach to accomplish our objectives: Mohammad Rizwan.

Jason Gillespie was hired by Pakistan to coach the white-ball team during the upcoming Australian tour. Since April, the former Australian seamer has led the red-ball team as its head coach. After six months, Gary Kirsten resigned as Pakistan’s white-ball coach, the PCB made the decision to give him more responsibility. When the Men in Green lost in the opening round of the 2024 T20 World Cup, the South African captain led the team.

According to Rizwan, who was questioned about Pakistan’s efforts to find a new head coach for the white-ball team, the team is prepared to collaborate with whoever is chosen for the position.

“When you play for your country, you transcend all other people.” Playing for Pakistan, not certain positions, is our top priority. The Peshawar native said, “We will collaborate to accomplish our objectives, whoever is selected as head coach.”
