Jasprit Bumrah will go down as best all-format bowler of all time: Glenn Maxwell

“Unbelievable slow ball, great yorker, can swing it both ways, brilliant wrist, and good sniff. I feel like he has all the tricks..." Maxwell discussed Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah will go down as best all-format bowler of all time: Glenn Maxwell

Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has the potential to be regarded as the greatest all-format bowler of all time, according to Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. The 30-year-old, who is presently ranked #1 in Test bowling, excelled for the national squad in the 2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup. India ended a 12-year title drought by winning the summit clash after qualifying for both events.

Maxwell emphasised that Bumrah’s repertoire is diverse since he can bowl a fantastic yorker, swing the ball in both directions, and ace the slower ball. Additionally, he noted that the Indian international may alter the delivery at any time, which is how he disrupts the hitters.

“I believe Jasprit Bumrah would have been the best bowler I would have faced.

He will most likely be remembered as the greatest all-time bowler, in my opinion. In a shared video, Maxwell stated, “It almost feels like he can change where he’s bowling right at the last minute because he releases it from so far out in front of himself.”

“He has a fantastic wrist, a good sniff, and an unbelievable slow ball and great yorker that can swing it both ways.” The 36-year-old continued, “It seems like he has all the skills of a really good fast bowler.”

Notably, Bumrah recently contributed significantly to the victory over Bangladesh in the Test series. Before playing against New Zealand, he took a break from the T20Is to manage his workload. With consecutive victories in Bengaluru and Pune, the Kiwis have built an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, thus the pacer was unable to have much of an influence.

Before the five-match series against Australia, which is scheduled to start on November 22, it remains to be seen if India would play him in the third Test in Mumbai or give him some time off.
