It is a great honour to captain Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan

On Sunday, October 27, Pakistan named Mohammad Rizwan as their new white-ball captain. In the forthcoming tour of Australia, he will be leading the Men in Green.

In ODIs and T20Is, Rizwan notably took Babar Azam’s place as Pakistan’s captain. Following his elevation, the batsman-wicketkeeper stated that many people aspire to play for Pakistan. But being the team’s captain is a huge distinction that has its share of difficulties. Rizwan is eager to lead the team over the challenges and restore the heyday of glory.

“Any player’s desire is to play for Pakistan; it is an immense honour. Afterward, assuming the role of captain for the Pakistani team. It is hard to explain. “There are no words to describe the sense of honour you feel,” Rizwan stated in a video that Pakistan Cricket shared on their official social media account.

However, there are two ways I will bestow this accolade. In one way, I have honoured each of my former captains. As easy as they were. The second is that he honoured all of my former captains. In my opinion, they are in charge of 24–25 crore people. For me, it is a challenge. Despite the fact that it is a challenge, it is also an honour. The squad takes this in that manner. “So, inshallah, I’ll try to balance both,” he added.

During a news conference in Lahore on Sunday, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement. Salman Ali Agha also had a great day when he was named Rizwan’s deputy.

I’ve learnt from past captains: Mohammad Rizwan

The Peshawar native has played 102 Twenty20 Internationals, 74 One-Day Internationals, and 35 Test matches. Pakistan’s former captains taught him a lot, according to Mohammad Rizwan. The 32-year-old anticipated that throughout his time in charge, he would be able to appropriately implement his approaches.

“To manage their exertion. There is a great deal of responsibility. Just like we did throughout the area and at home with the Pakistan U-18. Allah has bestowed the department upon us. But I haven’t wished for this yet. I have learnt from all of my former captains, as far as I can tell. I have witnessed them. that they have soft, emotional, or angry traits. As a result, we continue to study one another. I’ve had a wish up until now. Because Pakistan is very different at this level and below, this duty means that things will be different. However, I pray that God would help me put what I’ve learnt into practice’, Rizwan said.
