‘Kagaz ke sher, ghar mein dher’- Ahmed Shehzad after New Zealand beats India at home

An impressive 12-year home run came to an end when Team India lost a heavy series against New Zealand. India lost the second Test in Pune by 113 runs after losing the first Test in Bengaluru by eight wickets. The final Test will be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium starting on November 1 and will wrap up the three-match series.

Ahmed Shehzad, a former cricket player for Pakistan, has spoken out on the Indian team’s performance after watching them win two straight at home.

“New Zealand came to India, beat them like children, and then left, as if they had the right to do so. A joke has been played on India. People now say, “Tigers on paper, crumbled at home,” according to Shehzad.

Rohit Sharma once remarked, “Everyone has a bad day,” after India was dismissed for 46 runs in the opening Test. We also agree with that. Totally reasonable. However, it appears that you have gotten complacent in your cricket play, even in this Test match. According to Rohit Sharma, they don’t think needless chatter is important, but the last two Test matches lacked that energy. He continued, “The way these two games were played gave the impression that schoolboys were playing.

Due to their defeat, India’s quest for the World Test Championship final has grown more difficult and complicated. The team captained by Rohit Sharma continues to hold the top spot in the rankings, but Australia under Pat Cummins is now closer than ever.

The Indian team may not be able to make it to the WTC final the following year if they do not perform well in the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. Currently, the squad must win at least four of the six Test matches they have left.
