'Not going to overreact-' Rohit Sharma after India's 12-year home streak was broken in Pune

In Test cricket, New Zealand broke India’s 18-match winning streak in home series. Both the bowling and batting teams fell short of expectations at Pune, which led to a defeat of 113 runs. Mitchell Santner, who took 13 wickets in the match and was named Player of the Match, was especially difficult for the hitters to handle.

India skipper Rohit Sharma said he will support his team during these difficult times and isn’t prepared to analyse much despite the series loss and the end of the streak. The 37-year-old stated that the cricket players understand their position and that his goal is to maintain composure and comfort so they can recover in the third Test match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

“I will not exaggerate.” You should speak quietly with them about what they must do. The players who will be playing in Australia for the first time have my support. “Remain composed and give them a sense of belonging here,” Rohit said.

It’s unfair to expect Ashwin and Jadeja to perform consistently: Rohit Sharma

At home, the combination of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin has been crucial for India. The pair hasn’t performed well in the last two games, though, which has cast doubt on their influence and prospects. However, Rohit was unwilling to consider issues regarding Ashwin and Jadeja, pointing out their significant contribution to India over the past several years.

“They are supposed to assist us in winning every game they play. It’s unfair. They are aware of their actions and the standards. Both of them have played a significant part in our 12-year run. They are occasionally permitted to play some poor games.

They will not always run through the batting unit. It is a group entity. It must be distributed to all. We are happy of Washington’s outstanding performance in the game,” Rohit remarked.
