‘They have one way of batting: attack, attack, attack’- Geoffrey Boycott questions Bazball’s effectiveness on ‘big spinning pitches’

"I think they have these failures because the players only have one way of batting," Boycott stated.

'They have one way of batting: attack, attack, attack'- Geoffrey Boycott questions Bazball's effectiveness on 'big spinning pitches'

In Multan, Pakistan defeated the visiting England by 152 runs in a decisive comeback, winning a Test match at home after more than three years. After struggling against the spin combination of Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, Pakistan eventually broke the home curse. After losing the home Test series to Bangladesh 0–2, Shan Masood and company came under fire.

Despite scoring an incredible 556 in the first innings, they suffered a heartbreaking defeat to begin the England series, losing by an innings and 47 runs.

Geoffrey Boycott, a former England cricketer, has pointed out the team’s vulnerability to spin threats after England failed to address spin in the second Test.

“If our team members are being honest with themselves, they ought to be questioning why they experience these significant collapses. The top order tends to disintegrate as a team, but one player, like Ben Duckett, will score a lot in the first innings. It occurred far too frequently in India. Ollie Pope’s one-man show and incredible 196 in Hyderabad was the only Test match they won in the series earlier this year, according to Boycott, who was cited by Mirror.

“I believe that the reason for their failures is that the players only know how to bat—attack, attack, attack—in order to overwhelm the opposition bowlers and force them into submission,” he continued.

Speaking of Pakistan’s spin combination, Noman wowed with an eight-wicket haul in the second inning, while Sajid claimed seven wickets in the first.
