S Jaishankar's visit to Pakistan raises questions over India's probable Champions Trophy visit in 2025

In February of the following year, Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy. After an almost 28-year break, this will be the first time the nation hosts an ICC event. India has refused to allow the national team to visit Pakistan for the major event due to geopolitical concerns between the two nations.

It is important to note that following the terrible Mumbai attacks in 2008, India has not participated in a bilateral series abroad. The controversy surrounding the possible talks of

The Indian team’s visit to the neighboring country has returned after India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, recently visited Pakistan.

According to, Jaishankar and Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s External Affairs Minister, discussed the matter. Mohsin Naqvi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), also attended the meeting.

The Indian government alone has the authority to decide whether or not the squad should travel, according to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), which has not yet commented on the matter. Additionally, according to reports, the PCB has given the BCCI the choice to have the Indian team return to Chandigarh or Delhi following each match in the next tournament in order to shorten their time in the nation.

To resolve security concerns, Lahore was selected as the location for the India Games.
In addition, the PCB has planned all of the Indian team’s games in Lahore to prevent logistical and security problems. The location is closer to the Indian border and even accommodates Indian fans’ desire to watch games, which is the only reason Lahore was chosen. India’s three matches are set for March 2 (against New Zealand), February 23 (against Pakistan), and February 20 (against Bangladesh).

The broadcasters have asked the ICC to move India’s match against New Zealand to a another location, the report also disclosed. The PCB then appeared to suggest Rawalpindi as an additional location, but neither the ICC nor the broadcasters have confirmed this.
