Women's T20 World Cup: Jasprit Bumrah attends India-Pakistan game in Dubai

On October 6, in Dubai, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India Women (IND-W) faced Pakistan Women (PAK-W) in Match 7 of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Jasprit Bumrah, the top bowler for India, was present at the stadium to cheer Women in Blue during the match between the bitter rivals on a hot afternoon in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Regarding the game, Pakistan chose to bat first after winning the toss. The Indian bowlers were proficient enough to limit them to a pitiful 105 runs. Arundhati Reddy and Shreyanka Patil, representing India, demonstrated their skill with the ball by taking three and two wickets, respectively. Renowned pacer Jasprit Bumrah signed up for the exciting match during India’s batting and also had some interaction with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

India was able to get over Pakistan.

After losing to New Zealand by a significant margin of 58 runs in their opening match, Team India had a rough start to the competition. After games against and Bangladesh’s departure, they are assigned to Group A. After the first game, their Net Run Rate dropped to -2.900, which was a severe setback. They only managed to chase down 106 in 18.5 overs and with six wickets remaining, falling short of the huge margin they required to win against Pakistan.

After Smriti Mandhana was removed for just seven runs, Shafali Verma struck a resolute 32 off 35 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur limped back injured after making significant runs (29* off 24 balls) for the Indian team, while Jemimah Rodrigues chipped in with a crucial knock (23 off 28 balls). Shafali and Jemimah steadied the boat after an early blowout with their 43-run partnership for the second wicket.
