Rohit Sharma thinks ‘tremendous’ effort against Bangladesh to not go under the radar

The goal and how to achieve it were apparent. Each person began answering that. A great series. You may not notice "Rohit said.

Rohit Sharma thinks 'tremendous' effort against Bangladesh to not go under the radar

India’s achievement was made even more remarkable by the fact that they not only won but also did so in just 2.5 days. In a recent interview, Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised the team and head coach Gautam Gambhir for instilling in the player a sense of urgency in their pursuit of a result.

The fact that India defeated Bangladesh 2-0 at home may have been predicted, but the way they won will always be ingrained in Indian cricket culture. When it came to the second Test in Kanpur, those who felt that the 280-run triumph in the first Test in Chennai was remarkable were in for a nice surprise.

“First to the celebration were the bowlers. They secured the wickets we required, and once we were inside, we had to assume some risk in order to succeed. I was fine with the outcome even though I knew it might have gone other way. It takes courage to accept those judgements and go to play that way, which is why Gautam Gambhir, the coach, and the other players were also astounded.

Everything appears good when everything falls into place. And when things don’t work out, that’s where things can change rapidly. Everyone would have immediately begun to criticise the choice we made and everything, but in this changing room, what matters is what we think. And it was what was important. And in this game, that’s what we did,” Rohit was cited as adding.

Rohit, who has led his team to a 66.67% victory record in Test matches thus far, undoubtedly didn’t want their efforts to go unnoticed. “There was a clear plan outlining our goals and how to achieve them. Everyone began looking for solutions to that. It was, in my opinion, a remarkable series. It might pass unnoticed,” he said.

Rohit Sharma attributes India’s success on their fielding.

In Bangladesh’s first innings at the Green Park, Rohit, who held onto a one-handed display of skill at midoff to dismiss Litton Das, commended the players for their tremendous effort and their lightning-fast reflexes, especially those in the slip cordon. He was grateful for T. Dilip, the fielding coach, for his unseen efforts.

In India, it’s uncommon to witness the ball going through the slips. However, the people behind were quite skilled, and while it may appear simple on TV, I assure you that it is not because they are standing much farther ahead than they usually do. As a result, they struggle greatly to accept any captures that are made. I have observed that the response time is really short.

Everyone works really hard to get such things correct. It’s clear that Dilip [T. Dilip] is supporting the players. Additionally, a few key catches that truly changed the course of the game,” Rohit continued.

The hosts managed to hold onto 23 of the 24 opportunities that were presented to them. This number alone demonstrates the significant improvement in the Indian team’s fielding standards.
