Jasprit Bumrah, the star bowler for India, praised Akash Deep following the second Test match in Kanpur against Bangladesh. Following a brilliant debut against England earlier in the year, where he took three wickets, Akash also performed well in the Duleep Trophy, which helped the Bengal pacer secure a spot in India’s team for the Bangladesh series.
He made significant strides in the series and took five wickets in two games, which impressed Rohit Sharma, the captain of India. In the meantime, Bumrah mentioned that Akash usually has a lot of enthusiasm and is eager to learn new things when bowling.
He continued by saying that Akash Deep puts it his best on the pitch and that he and the cricket player always had fascinating chats about bowling.

Following the match, Captain Rohit was likewise all praise for Akash. He added that the cricketer has all the necessary skills to succeed on the national squad and pointed out that he has performed well in domestic cricket as well. In addition, he mentioned that Akash can bowl extended spells and has a strong physique—two qualities that are critical in Test cricket.
“He has behaved well. He has played a lot of cricket domestically. There are a lot more overs in the legs when you rise through the ranks in that manner. We are confident the man can do the duties the team needs him to. He is skilled and of the right calibre.
