VVS Laxman highlights primary aims of BCCI behind new NCA campus in Bengaluru

The National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, the BCCI Centre of Excellence (BCE), was inaugurated behind closed doors by Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, and other notable figures from the cricket community.

The chairman of the NCA, former cricketer VVS Laxman, expressed confidence that the modern facilities will enable the country’s players, both present and future, become more skilled players.

It is my belief that the current and future generations of cricket players would also benefit from the Centre of Excellence. According to News18, Laxman said, “They will come to upskill themselves, get ready for the challenges, and various series they are going to participate in.”

Laxman dispelled even more of the myth that wounded players only used the center as a setting. He also emphasized the BCCI’s rationale for moving forward with the facility’s construction.

It’s a myth that cricketers only visit the NCA for rehabilitation: VVS Laxman

It’s a common misperception that cricket players only visit this place for rehabilitation. I have no doubt that any player who visits this facility will participate in the program, work for excellence, and make every effort to reach their full potential. The Indian cricket team will likely become the greatest in the world in the process, across all formats. That is the goal of the BCCI in its entirety, as well as the goal of every program we offer at this center,” Laxman stated.

We want the players to be able to adjust to various situations, says Laxman.

He went on to elaborate on the various practice pitches, the various tracks with different soil types inside the center for the players to experience, and the primary goal of the National Cricket Board, which is to provide nearly everything a developing player could possibly need at one central location.

For all the players, but especially for someone like me who has represented the nation at the greatest level, it is a dream come true. It is, in my opinion, a pivotal time. Three distinct soils are available here (for pitch preparation): the indigenous Mandya soil from Karnataka, the red soil from Mumbai, and the Orissa (Kalahandi) soil.

“Next are the practice wickets, which feature around forty practice wickets on three distinct soil types, including five cement tracks. Our goal is for the players to be able to adjust to various situations.

Thus, players may have the exposure and experience of playing on various pitches and soil types all in one location rather than having to travel from one city to another, which would improve their performance, Laxman continued.

It was exciting to be present the inauguration of the state of the art BCCI Center Of Excellence which has facilities that are truly world class👌

Laxman concluded by shedding light on the center’s even paying sufficient priority on player rehabilitation, taking into account the demanding schedule that Indian cricket players must adhere to.
