Mayank Yadav, the elite pacer, won a ton of accolades for his three-for against Punjab Kings earlier in the season. In his second match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he added three more, and before long, the 22-year-old was the talk of the town. Many former cricket players were amazed by Mayank’s speed, and he was predicted to be India’s next major bowling star.
But after just four games, the pacer’s side discomfort forced him to miss the IPL 2024. From that point on, BCCI managed his injuries and brought him to the National Cricket Academy, where physiotherapists and physicians collaborated to assist him regain maximum health. Although the officials did not want to take a chance on him playing red-ball cricket, he was likely to be included in the Duleep Trophy.
He is now training at a unique camp with players like Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, and Hardik Pandya, and he is 100% fit as of right now. The goal is to overcome the rustiness, and a special camp is planned for that very reason. According to reports, the young player is also part of the plans for the forthcoming five-match Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh. For the same reason, he is training among the potential India players for the series.

While Mayank was a member of the Lucknow Super Giants, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and bowling coach Morne Morkel spent time with him. The source stated that Morkel and Gambhir think highly of him and that the intention is not to limit him to T20s alone. His progress will also be closely watched.
The selectors are opposed to confining him to the T20 format alone. They therefore wish to keep a close eye on his development.
