Speculation regarding the star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s possible return to Test cricket has been sparked by his recent sightings practicing with the red ball. Pandya hasn’t played in a Test match for India in almost six years. He made his debut for the country against Australia in January 2016.
After making his final appearance in the game’s longest format in 2018, he mostly concentrated on limited-overs cricket. Pandya has played in 11 Test matches and amassed 532 runs, including a century, and 17 wickets, including a fifer.
Depending on his physical health and ability to manage his workload, the 30-year-old cricket player, Pandya, may play in some forthcoming Ranji Trophy matches. Pandya has been practicing hard in the nets with the red ball. The management of the Indian squad is cautiously confident but places a higher priority on avoiding any possible injuries.
Former Indian batsman and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik offered his opinions on the subject, stating that while he is thrilled to have made the Test team, he has doubts about his body providing the necessary support.
“Whoa, that sounds pretty wonderful. Fast bowling and batting in Australia would be beneficial, especially for someone with his skill set. However, I must admit that I would be astonished because I am aware of Karthik’s physical condition and know that it is difficult for him to play Test cricket at his current level.
The squad has turned to Shardul Thakur as a quick bowler and all-arounder in his place. Even though Thakur has made some significant contributions, especially in away games, his bowling performances have been patchy and frequently costly.

In the future, Pandya might play his first Test during the series against Australia if he is deemed fit. The all-rounder travelled to Australia with India in 2018–19.
